GUEST BLOG DESIGN TEAM MEMBER: Gilded Tree Card

Posted by Kim Shultz on

Hello, everyone!  Today I have another project using an item from Gs Embellishment Emporium.

I used the Festive Stencil, Template, & Stamp Set (AVAILABLE HERE) from the store to make a Gilded Tree card .  This 5 by 7 inch card is perfect for Christmas.

To begin, I used  my anti-static powder tool to apply powder to a 4 1/2 by 6 1/2 inch piece of green cardstock.  I then taped that to my work surface, followed by the stencil from the set (AVAILABLE HERE).  I put the tree more toward the top to leave room for a sentiment.  I traced the tree and the the trunk using my VersaMark pen, which is embossing ink in a pen form.  I removed the stencil, applied gold embossing powder to the tree and brown to the trunk and heat set it.

Next I stamped large snowflakes from a set from my stash and the smaller snowflakes from the Festive set (AVAILABLE HERE) with white ink, sprinkled them with Iridescent Sparkle embossing powder and heat set them for the perfect shimmery snowflakes.

To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment "believe" from a set from my stash with VersaMark ink, added the same gold embossing powder that I used on the tree, and heat set it.  I then adhered it to a 4 3/4 by 6 3/4 inch piece of patterned paper. I adhered that to my 5 by 7 card base.

I hope this beautiful set that's available at gsembellishmentemporium.com inspires you with your holiday cards.
