Guest Blog Design Team Member: Masculine Card - Kim Shultz

Hi, everyone!  I am so honoured that Gareth asked me to be a Guest Designer for G's Embellishment Emporium.

For my first project, I used the Papermania Chronology 9 piece stamp (click here for it) set that is available in the store.  I stamped the gears with Distress Embossing Ink on a 4 by 5 1/4 inch piece of ivory cardstock and heat embossed them with Vintage Photo Distress Embossing Powder.  This is a matte embossing powder that gives a pitted finish to the gears, which is perfect for a masculine card.

I then stamped the large image image from the stamp set in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it using Princess Gold embossing powder by Ranger.  This is a darker gold powder and gave me the look I was aiming for.

I took a Happy Birthday greeting from a stamp set from my stash and stamped it between the 2 gears at the top in Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  I put strips of the 3/8 inch wide tape (click here for it) from the store on the back of the panel and put it on a 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 kraft card base.

I hope this inspires you in your masculine card making.

Please feel free to leave a comment.  Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

  • This is a fantastic masculine card. I love how it has been embossed to give the metallic feel to it. I’m sure who ever received it would love it ❤️ Xx
