GUEST BLOG DESIGN TEAM MEMBER: Wintry Thank You Card

Posted by Kim Shultz on

Hello, everyone!  Lately I have loved using glitter paper, today I am using Navy blue to create a wintry scene "Thank you" card.  We all need Thank you cards for those holiday gifts that we receive and I think this one is perfect for the season.

To start, I cut the snowflakes using the Arctic, Teardrop, and Heart snowflake dies (AVAILABLE HERE) that are available from Gareth's store from glitter paper.  I learned one thing while die cutting the snowflakes: Place the paper glitter side down on the cutting pad so that you don't lose the glitter.  I put a piece of wax paper between my glitter paper and die prior to cutting for easy removal.

Next I adhered the snowflakes to a 5 inch by 3 3/4 inch piece of Navy cardstock using liquid glue (AVAILABLE HERE) .

Now it's time for the sentiment.  After applying powder to the bottom of the Navy panel using my anti-static powder tool, I stamped the Thank you sentiment from the "Fluttering By" stamp set by Little Acres Creations (AVAILABLE HERE)  in white ink.  I then sprinkled glitter embossing powder from my stash over it and heat set it, adding to the wintry feel that I was aiming for.

To finish the card, I glued the panel onto a 5 1/4 by 4 inch piece of patterned paper.  I then glued that to a 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 top-folding card.
